Shell Refining Catalyst Reactor Laboratory

The project consisted of the re-purposing of two existing high bay industrial labs into a new laboratory space for relocation of a distinct business line. The laboratory consists of approximately 20,000 sq ft of space, divided into two phases to accommodate commissioning and startup of Phase 1 operations. New structural steel framing was added to high bay spaces to create a new  mezzanine space; new mechanical, electrical, plumbing and gas piping systems were added to accommodate new equipment. Existing adjacent office space was re-purposed to accommodate a new control center, including control consoles and workstations, conference rooms and other amenities. A second floor mechanical space was modified to house supplementary equipment transformers and control systems. Decommissioning of the previous lab space and inventorying and relocation of lab equipment and systems was also completed as part of the project.
